When you go out and buy some kind of apparatus to do something, you usually go home and read the directions. Well, most of us do. Unfortunately, we don’t come equipped with an instruction manual, so we have to get to know ourselves. Because, when it comes to magick, you are your most powerful tool. Nothing else that you will use will work without you.
First off, examine your motives. This is not just for newcomers, but for all of us, and it is something that we should do at least on a daily basis. Look at yourself and your surroundings,. Is there anything negative there? Get rid of it! I don’t mean that you cannot do magick when you have problems. On of the reasons we do this is to solve problems. I mean that you should not let negative thoughts of these problems interfere with what you are doing or how you feel about what you are doing.
Casting spells, and spells, is like saying a prayer. When you say a prayer, at the end, you do not say, “I wonder if God is listening to me today?”. You say AMEN. Which means: It Shall BE. If you have any doubts, you chances are less than good that your magick will be effective.
